->    What we do here, that I see almost EVERYWHERE here in Phoenix, is
-> take the
-> manure from the stalls and put IT out in the arena.  It seems to
-> impove the footing from just plain sand.  Of course, out here the
-> manure is DRY in a day or two; if you have perpetually wet clay...
You have to plow it in frequently.  We were doing that until one of the
groups that holds shows here complained.  Sure did improve the
footing.  We had very deep sand.  One of the problems with it is that it
floats.
