Thinking further, it could be the Kernel Files as well.  Read up on the 
P4 Fixpak issues http://ps.software.ibm.com/os2fixp/fixnews.html#f001> 
  But start with the SCSI driver, then look at the CDROM and other Mass 
Storage Devices...

As Mass Storage Device capacities have increased, some of the Drivers 
have become "obsolete", and Fail in the most "pitiful" ways.


Please "share" when you locate the cause of this issue.....
