| subject: | Maxtor120GigHD |
Hi, I obtained this drive to replace a small 4.3Gig that I had. Planned to simply create the same number of partitions, with the same Drive Letters but each partition (Volume) would be much larger. Well I managed to create 8megFat, 2.0gigFat, 2.0gigFat and 32.765GigFat32. Leaving 80+megs which is according to ECSv1.1 unusable. There are no jumpers on the drive which would limit the TOTAL partitions, that I can see. As a boot drive I have a 60 gig Maxtor which presented no problems with partitioning. Both drives are 133, the boot is 7200rpm and the 120gig is 5200rpm. I'm using Dani's .add . Both ECS and winXP see the unusable 80gigs, so what do I do? I have DFSee611 which although functioning before the addition of the 120gig unit, will not proceed beyond the change Text screen question. Tried the Partion tool in XP without success. Have Partition Magic v 6.0, but I'm reluctant to use that on an LVM machine. Any ideas? Dual posted because I didn't really know where it should be posted, seems like a bit of each group.
