subject: Possible Hardware Problem?

This morning my Compaq laptop running eCS 1.1 refused to complete
booting due to trap 6, e, and d in various modules, including the
kernel, hpfs, afinetk (or close to it), pmshell. Power off and reboot
would get part way thru boot, and then another trap in some module.
There was only one trap 6, the majority being trap d and a few trap e.

I could boot WinXP on the same system with no problems, and in fact did
so several times. Suspecting a memory problem, I downloaded Memtest86
and ran it thru a couple of passes over more than an hour, with no
errors discovered.

Following the memtest86 run, I booted into eCS with out any problems
whatsoever.

Does this indicate a possible intermittant memory problem, or maybe some
other component getting flakey, like maybe a bus, disk I/O, or a drive
going bad?

Thanks for any thoughts.
