since some Hams use far more power then necessary they would never
notive the inefficency.
An example is a small emergency net for a church I used to participate o
nin the 2 meter band. I donated a moble rig and a modified car starting
pack as a power supply and told then that low power on the mobile was
all that was necessary foir the net but some operators insisted on using
high power.
which totaly defeated my design parameters for the battery pack.
Using typical transmit to revieve ratios the power pack would be good
for 24 hours using low power.
