Yes, it is from both my and a mate's experience.  Sherwood has proved
itself to be unreliable and just not up to HiFi specs.

My old Sherwood receiver spent more time in the workshop than actually
working.  It cost me $800 and I traded it after 12 months.  I only got $250
for it.  My mate has a Sherwood mini HiFi unit.  It only had a 12 month
warranty and the CD unit died 1 month after the warranty expired.

It is well worth paying a little extra for quality gear.  Try shopping
around at places like Napf Electronics.  You can get the quality stuff for
about the same as the Sherwood.
