-> I've seen some adds somewhere (Sportsmans Guide?) for slugs designed
-> to work with the standard star fold crimp. I've never seen any
-> ballistics on them or a shooting study.
->
-> Still having never actually reloaded anything (my Lee Load-All II is
-> still in its box) I've often wondered over the necessity to use a
-> roll crimp with slugs. As in is it really necessary, and why. Do
-> you know anything on this for curiosity and discussion?
The new slugs do not need to be roll crimped. I'm talking about
the 525 grain Lyman sabot slugs and the Lee 1 oz slugs.
Also, if you adjust the wad height correctly, you can fold crimp
any slug.
