EV> TW> @MSGID:
EV>Howdy! Tom,
EV>-snip-
EV> TW> As a side note becauew one of the wifes old program's will only
EV> TW> recognizes LPT ports
EV> TW> I searched around and found out I can Simulate an LPT port in
EV> TW> XP by using the following steps:
EV> TW> Do a "Right Mouse" Click on the Printers Name
EV> TW> Choose "Properties"
EV> TW> Click on hte "Ports" tab
EV> TW> Rembember the USB port name
EV> TW> Click on "Enable Printer Pooling" and check the box
EV> TW> Scroll through the listed ports and click on "LPT1" port
EV> TW> Click on "Apply" and "Ok"
EV>That sounds easier to do than the method Jeff Guerdat said for me to do
EV>to allow SLMR to print to a USB printer.
EV>I have a Batch File that uses a NET USE command to do what You helped
EV>Your wife to do to print with her new printer.
EV>At the end of the NET USE line in the .BAT file is "persistant:yes" so
EV>to keep that setting remembered so I don't have to run the .BAT every
EV>time I wanted to print a message I read in SLMR while I was using it.
EV>73
As a side note on what I suggested it only works on the host computer if
one is using a Network printer.
