You should see some of the letters we have to answer at work. 'Griping'
would be a very mild description, indeed, although several of our in
boxes are referred to as gripes. There have been many occasions when I
secretly wished I could start a reply with 'Look, jerk...'. :>
In the private sector, things are very much driven by what sells. I
presume that applies to publishing houses as well.
