Dennis, the pattern I have is quite lengthy and done so you can adjust to
several styles, sizes ect. I thought I'd mail you some copies if you
like..It's really too lenthy to type the whole thing out. I would if I
could..maybe if I knew what size you were interested in I could send you that
one / Let me know.
The slippers you mentioned sound wonderful. do you have children/grands and
such that will enjoy all these snuggly items ? I keep myself busy making such
things for all of mine. I have 8 children.11 grends and 1 great..Just making
mittens for the younger ones used to keep me plenty busy because they always
managed to lose one..till someone set me straight on making them attached to
each other via an " idiot string" just a crochetted single crochet and then
they can put them through the sleeves. and they can't lose one without the
other..it sure cut down on the numbers of pairs I made per year. now the
older ones. * and up refuse to use the ones with the string so we're back to
making a pair and a spare..10 and up refuse to use mittens and want gloves
anyway and I don't like making them. too hard on the hands..mine that is.
You gave me some ideas for using up the shredded paper. I have a son and
his family in Japan and I'm always sending boxes his way and I've been using
popped corn for buffer and filler, but the paper is free and plentiful and no
trouble to make..but the Japanese birds will sure be disappointed, they can't
eat the paper...
`ow's the weather out your way ? we had a little more snow today but
that's expected up here, up until April anyway.sometimes we get lucky and it
warms before then, but we can expect anything until then.
I'd go back an correct my spelling but can't after I finish a row. or at
least I don't know how. I sounded a bit cockney on line 23...
take care and it's nice writing and exchanging ideas with you. an Hello to
your wife also..would love to hear from her sometime..
                                                 Bettie
