PM>Have to admit that I've got tried the 32bit extender. ATM my programs
PM>run well enough in 16bit mode (sad isn't it!), I might get around to

PM>(Student edition means you don't get the half a tree's worth of
PM>paper-backs).
Ever used a 3rd party extender? Causeway or pm/w are pretty good.
ACH> well, alas, system specs required (not really avoidable)...
ACH> to compile comfortably using DJGPP you need at least 20-24mb
ACH> of ram. otherwise disk swapping is hideous.
PM>:-O Well, that's settled. I'm sticking with WC++. My god! I've not
PM>got 20Mb of disk space free. Never mind RAM.
20-24mb of ram? AHAHAHA, not likely. 8mb of ram will do. (no disk swapping)..
I link my programs with a library 1mb of size, and it takes no longer than
10-15 seconds to compile with FULL optimizations on my 486 dx2/66, 8mb ram.
... How do you make Windows faster? Throw it harder!
