        Just of interest, what you do say that? I'm not arguing with you
 at all, but, is this from experience?

        The reason I'm looking at Sherwood is that I currently have a
 Sherwood tape deck that I've had for 4 years, and have never had so much
 as a glimer of trouble with it..... It (and all Sherwood gear) has/had a
 3 year warranty..... and IMHO I could heartilly recomment this brand.

        I did look at both your suggested brands..... but for a similar
 unit by either of those two (as the Sherwood), I'd be looking at around
 another $300 at least (list prices anyway).

        I do however thank you for your "warning", but please don't be
 offended if I ignore it this time....
