I have such a 1496+ and wanted to use it for voice only (answering machine).
It really does work fine with the pre-recorded messages that came with the 
program. However, the messages that are to be recorded by the modem itself 
(the calls) are nothing but noise, when played back through the (same) modem.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong : I'm using the soft and the modem in their 
unaltered state. Anybody had the same experience ?
