WT> Hi Gordon,
WT> How do you do the below? I have the concept but the mechanics
WT> escape me. Would you post a line from your TMW.INI or whichever
WT> file it's in?
Hi Will: The following are the relevant entries under [Fonts] in my
WIN.INI (Windows 3.xx Win.ini .. WIN 95 installs fonts into the sytem
registry ... but you still have to install them as per the below
method).
Fixedsys for the Ibm 8514=8514fix.fon
Terminal Font for the Ibm 8514=8514oem.fon
To install, choose CONTROL PANEL | FONTS | ADD | search Windows\System
directory | ALL. You will get lots of "Font already installed"
messages, but go through the WHOLE list, and if they are on your disk
(in not, search each of your Windows install disks {disk 2 on my set} for
the 8514 fonts and expand them to your hdd) they will be installed.
This will allow you a 12 point Terminal font.
GV> All you have to do is install the OEM fixed pitch fonts that come with
GV> Windows ... I had the same problem until I did this.
RB> Like others I find that the screen is jerky when it updates.
GV> that complain about jerky screen updates. This is not a common
GV> problem.
WT> I found that, when using a 14 pitch font, the screen jerks side-to-
WT> side as it scrolls. Just not enough screen room for the size.
WT> BTW, I made a TMW.PIF following your TM-DOS.PIF for Windows ideas.
WT> Now TMW gives me near TM-DOS u/l & d/l cps'es at 28k8. Before it
WT> acted like a 14k4 modem. Thank You Gordon!
Interesting ... I will have to try that. :)
