Went to Account Settings -> Composition & Addressing -> Global Composing
Preferences -> Advanced -> Config Editor -> told it yes I'd void the warranty
-> Did a search for anything related to UTF-8 or utf8.  There's a few
things...nothing that looks particularly important...
