Now that's nt fair!... I "DID" qualify my comments by saying that
whatever I had written was what I had "heard" - NOT from what I knew
pesonally (as an aside, and the broker/dealer who just sold me my
Jeanneau will attest - one the the very first boats that 'stole my
heart' WAS a Hunter!)
SW=>I guess that depends on the area where you're from, as to who says what.
I
That's a good point: who has what in whatever area WILL certainly
"flavour" the reports you get from others while shopping for a boat.
SW=>the Tampa Bay area, Catalinas are not well received, but Hunters are.
That's another good point: as I've travelled I've seen just the opposite
to be true - then, in other areas - Catalinas & Hunters didn't really
enter into the conversation... but OTHER boats were the object of
the "good boat:bad boat" conversation!.. just proves your point even
more.
SW=> for a boat,I settled on a Hunter 34,made in 1984. While it
SW=>not without shortcomings,it is a solid boat,functional,& comfortable
SW=>live on,as I do.
You sound like someone who is, for the most part, completely happy with
your boat and, too, someone who is realistic enough to realize that NO
boat will be ALL things - unless you build it yourself... this is
something I HAVE said to Augustin in the past; ANY production boat will
be a blending, melding, and composition of compromises.
SW=>Systems are easily serviced or changed,as we all modify things
SW=>on our boats.
Isn't "THAT" the truth? Why can't we just leave the damn things alone
and enjoy them as they are ?
Thanks for your reply, and I'm sure Augustin will very much appreciate
the time you took to write it as well- talk to you later!
