One of the Dos-hpfs readers should be installable under XP imho:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/dos/amos320.zip

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/dos/hpfsa102.zip (is supposed to be read/write)

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/dos/ihpfs129.zip

However, I don't have any experience with these, so I can'y tell you
wether they are working properly or not.

If the Syquest disk (s) are read only, you could try to install the
drive and disk directly under eCS (or Warp 4.52 for that matter).

I have 3 jaz stations and 2 scsi adapters installed here. The 3 jaz are
attached to the second adapter. When I connect the jaz to a free
connection on the 1st scsi adapter, the jaz aren't readable anymore.

As removable drives/disks and lvm aren't a happy marriage, you better be
sure to have some genuine backups.
