the word Epiphyte? Epi- means "near to", as in Epi-centre, isn't

Yes I must agree that cultivating tulips in this way is a lot more work. Here
in Belgium we can put them in the ground somewhere in October and we can lett
them there all year around. I never take my tulip bulbs out. They remain
there for many years. But here they are only flowering in April and May.
