Sad to say, it ain't so.  To find vinyl in the States you have to
go to specialty shops, and there's hardly any new stuff coming out
on vinyl.
Back in the mid-80s, they discovered that if they convinced people
that "digital" was automatically better, people would pay US$14
for a CD when the vinyl was only US$9.    After that, LPs didn't
have long to live.
