Sorry, no exp here with Wintergreen, but I'll offer some comments on
that Wintergreen 1.3GHz Duron system from TigerDirect, based on the way
I see it for sale today 11/19. - -

For $230, (plus shipping, don't forget that!) you can get - -
-Case and PS - picture of back looks like std config ATX PS - GOOD!
(unlike some of those EMachines things, which used proprietary PS).
-Duron 1.3 GHz chip - - I didn't see if they include HS and fan
-Mainboard with Sis730 Chipset (onboard video uses part of system
memory, but is AGP 4x - a good thing).
-128MB PC133 memory - upgradeable by adding stick to open memory slot
I think PC133 sticks are cheap enough these days- watch Sunday
      newspapers
-10GB HDD - big enough for many users
-56K CDROM drive - plenty good enough for most users
-1.44 FDD - std
-56K v.90 Modem - from pix, an add in card. Good if you have probs or
      ever need to replace it.
-Onboard 10/100 Ethernet - - good if you need/want it
-Onboard AC97 Sound- - good, and integrated into many, many mainboards
-Mouse, keyboard - - prolly el-cheapos, but WTHeck?
-1 year mfgr warranty - - -this is a _GOOD_ thing.

I haven't added up with mu secret formulas what I think all of the above
should be worth in terms of $$, but - -

Looks to me like _maybe_ that $230 plus about $20 shipping from
TigerDirect _could_ be a good deal for someone looking to upgrade all at
once, and avoiding a lot of "pieces and parts" type hassles. Attach a
monitor, and off you go. Even if you _hate_ the Lindows operating
system, could start over with clean-out and a Winders load.

Good luck - - - JimH.

... "Bother!" said Pooh, as he realized his entire 'puter system
is obsolete.
