     Really, that surprises me. If so - it would be a pain in the Weet Bix.

     I can't see that it would be different to switching on the 'puter with
the cable in there - the switch would, it seems to me, just complete the
connection.

     But then - what do I know.

     I'm still kicjing myself I didn't buy your's - but it seemed so
extravagent at the time to have two computers sitting virtually side by
side and having two modems.
