And superior fundamentals, and with teamwork.  They also didn't just try to 
pull every pitch - they hit smart.

They didn't need more homers - they needed more opposite field rbi singles, 
and more walks.  They were great at letting pitchers off the hook by swinging 
at terrible pitches when ahead in the count.  *adh*
