If you really want to append to the end of an existing file then something
like this would do the trick...
ok = STREAM('test.txt' 'c', 'seek <0')
ok = CHAROUT('test.txt', 'this is the text that gets added' )
If the file has many records and you want to append to the end of each line
then you'll probably have to open a second file to hold the modified output
and use LINEIN and LINEOUT.
The on-line REXX Reference provides a reasonable description of what these
all do so I won't attempt to duplicate it here. The index will get you
there in a flash...it's knowing what function names to look up in the first
place that is the problem. :)
I've been working on a VXREXX project since the first of the year and am
quite happy with Watcom's product. How are you finding working with it?
