All the compaq's (and othr name brand machines) I've looked at come apart
wihout using a scredriver until the last minute, it comes to dismounting
the drives,  there's a clip or latch somewhere and the whole drive rack
should swing over and come out in one piece (or lift out etc)

OTOH maybe you've gotta take the cd-drive or the somethine out fitrst.
