On 11/14/04 03:01 pm Ed Durrant put fingers to keyboard and launched the following message into cyberspace: > > We have an HP Officejet all-in-one (color printer/FAX/scanner/copier) > > for which a suitable OS/2 driver is reportedly available. > Please let us all know if you get this working. AFAIK there's very few > All-in-ones that have OS/2 drivers ! Of course this would probably be > print-only and the scanning function would be a separate problem. To clarify: the machine is an Officejet 7130, and I have been told that the OS/2 driver for the OJ 91xx series (described by HP as usable with OS/2; that printer is included in a recent Laserjet driver pack) will work. And yes: I was talking only about printing. > > 2. HP Ethernet Print Server that plugs into the machine (and why is > > there a special model for use with non-Windows computers? These printer will normally not work with OS/2 or Linux. I meant that there is a special version of the Print Server (not of the printer itself) for operating systems other than Windoozzze. > The "old" HP Jetdirect, used to work with OS/2 but these were the parrallel > / serial port versions not the USB ones. > > 3. We are using an HP Laserjet 2200 with an internal Print Server connected to the Ethernet network, and that works fine. -=- Alan ------------------------ Yahoo!
