Not too sure about that Robert, most kickers I've used push about 3/4ths or 
less of the hull speed. Adding a couple or three horses increase from 1-2 
knots of speed.
I run a 27 OUday with a 7.5 inboard. She will do around 4 to 4.5 Knots under 
power and 8-10 under sail. A fifteen Hp diesel I've been considering in 
another (same) boat does around 6 knots. We've run these side by side and he 
walks away from me.
