William McBrine, the Multimail maintainer, told me 0.49 has dependencies that 
are no longer able to be met, so 0.50 was rewritten and that's the source code 
one should use to compile it.  I suspect it's the same thing with GED+'s clang 
dependencies (see the PID tearline on this message).
