You must only be watching the sequels!  They used the original movie to 
promote the NHL franchise.  In fact, I remember the press conference 
announcing the team.  One of the reporters asked Michael Eisner what kind of 
a hockey team could be run by a company that was used to making children's 
products.  His anwer?  "We hope it will be a real Mickey Mouse operation!"
