subject: conditioned line

Hello Mike,
Greetings from Oklahoma where South Western Bell rules.
> I've heard that pac bell offers a conditioned line service (might be

During the USRobotics beta testing stage of v.fc > v.34 (not V.34+) I
had my line conditioned. Line Conditioning in my case rendered the
higher frequencies of the line useless. It turned a beta Courier
achieving regular 21.6k to 26.4k into a full time 14.4k modem. I used
the Conditioned Line for almost a week for test purposes, reported
results to USR, and had the Conditioning removed. Remember,... Your
mileage may vary.
As for convincing them to 'give' you a conditioned line...they aren't
free. It costs $$ to have a conditioned line. I simply called MaBell
here and ordered it.
fwiw, Later...
 Rick
