It's also hatred of Clinton, Rich. The blame lies with "the
Clintonistas". The only reason to support taking Elian away from
"his family" is to "appease Castro".

I'm constantly reminded of two things -- Elian Gonzalez isn't black, and
his father isn't the one who drowned, leaving a mother in Cuba.
Either one of those changes would skew how "we" felt about this
situation. Witness the situation of Nivaldo Fernandez, one of the other
survivors. He is a pariah to his girlfriend Arianne Horta's (another
survivor) family -- because he is black.
