Howdy.
I sold my 64 back in '89 and now nostalgia is starting to bite, I am
seriously thinking of buying a very cheap 64+drive+dataset.
However, as I've been out of the 64 scene for a loooong time I'd like to know
1. Are there any compatibility problems between the 'old' and 'new'
models 64's and 1541's? I had an old model 64 and 1541 which never gave me
any problems but I vaguely remember hearing something about problems with
the newer models and certain software.
2. Any way I could store the games on the 'ol XT (or amiga) and load
them from the 64? Sort of keeping the disk image files (ideally
compressed) on the hard drive and fooling the 64 into thinking the XT was a
1541 or something.
3. What are my chances of being able to find all the classics? ie, the likes of:
Impossible Mission
The Boulderdash Series
Paradroid
Uridium
Wasteland (rpg by interplay, fantastic, still kicking
myself that I sold my original copy with my 64)
etc etc!
After 5 years of Amiga and PC, I still say games were more fun on the
64, do they still write games for it? Did someone attempt StreetFighter
II!?!
Byeeeee.
