Hi everyone!
I just purchased a SupraExpress 336e to replace my ancient 14.4
modem. I use the modem to run a bbs so needless to say I want the speaker
turned off permanently. This modem only holds its active configuration while
in one application, the moment the application ceases so do all my settings!
My question is... Is there anyway, short of breaking the speaker that I
can get the modem to turn off the speaker until such a time as I tell it
to turn on? As near as I can tell this modem doesn't have vram and
doesn't accept the AT command to write a new profile. Curious thought,
why is that? seems like a throw back in design settings to the early
(pre Hayes) 1200 baud modems...
I run RemoteAccess 2.02+ and FrontDoor 2.12SW in what is commonly called
"shell to mailer" mode.
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
Seize the day!
Rick
