BB>Yep. As of a year ago, Motorola, with it's CentraLink system, was
BB>the only manufacturer that had ADI as part of the actual E911
BB>equipment. Any other manufacturer had it as part of the CAD
BB>software, such as Boston.
BB>Mother Motorola may still be the only one that can make that claim
BB>still, but I am not sure.
I am not sure who provides the E 9-1-1 system, the CAD is from PRC. At
some point the info from the phone system will be automatically
transferred to the CAD system, but I don't know when that is going to
happen.
BB> GS> system. The reason for the separation is that while 94% of the
BB> GS> state has 9-1-1, only the larger systems use CAD.
BB>What does the rest of the state have? conventional 911, or nothing
BB>at all? (the missing 6%)
BB>Do you know whos system Boston uses?
94% of the state is covered by E 9-1-1, and that part is all automated.
What I meant is that most of the towns don't have a CAD system to track
calls and assist with dispatch. That part is still done manually as far
as I know. The remaining towns have not finished implementing the E 9-1-
1 system, for a variety of reasons. The town where I live hasn't done
so, and probably won't for a couple of years. The people responsible
have been dragging their feet on this. One of the problems has been
where to house the equipment and the people. However, since we are
building a new police station, and a new fire station, that should be
figured out soon.
As for who manufactures the hardware for the E 9-1-1 system, I don't
know, but will find out for you.
