NC> Do you have the 'Netstation' over there ?
NC> Its just been launched here at 299ukps and is a set top
NC> internet box, which displays on your TV, plus 15ukps a
NC> month [not including cost of the phonecalls !] for
 NC> access to the Internet.
NC> I can't see /that/ catching on, especially when most
NC> existing ISPs only charge about half that per month for
 NC> full access.
There are those "Web boxes" around here, but I don't think there are any
Netstations. Ever hear of WebTV?
Anyhow, I see your point. They're too general-purposed to satisfy everyone
except those people who can't afford anything better - and even those people
would probably be better off with something like a Saturn with a NetLink!

NC> You mean the makers of FF7 ? Or Sony. :)
  Sony as a whole, I guess. I haven't experienced enough of SquareSoft's
work to know what their music is generally like.
NC> Its fantastic ! Especially seeing as you can get it as
NC> part of the Platium budget range for about 15-20ukps,
NC> thats like only 5ukps more than a regular music CD
NC> album [the Tax on CDs over here is immense !] with the
 NC> game thrown in too :) Great stuff. I want a PS, I want a PS !
I've noticed that the Wipeout XL music CD itself is actually a bit
expensive here too, compared to more mainstream releases. Can't blame them,
though; it's got some of the better electronica out there.
A PSX would be nice for Wipeout XL (especially if you're really strapped
for cash), but I would prefer the PC version. Alas, I hear licensing
prevented the original music from making it to that version, but the game
itself is improved somewhat, especially in the graphics department. Picture
the PSX version of the game, only in 640x480 with texture smoothing on. Now
THAT'S intense.
