Sorry Matt. I don't have the address or phone and my son is on vacation
for
another week. The LEAP program for IBM and MAC computers is widely used by
many of the bigger shops. You can find it and several others like it in The
Cookbook and Speaker Builders Mag. I'll get the phone..etc when my son
returns. It is a pretty fascinating app. You just plug in your space
available,
and the data on the drivers you want to use and away it goes.
There are several available that even take readings from your finished
product and offer suggestions how to improve you speakers. Don't get me
wrong.
It doesn't do the work for you. It just takes your work and knowledge/design
and gives a very good representation of what to expect from it.
For my experience building subwoofers for the home I had a difficult time
calculating the extensive bracing and acoustic foam or batting that I was
using in relation to the internal space. I was advised by a number of people
that that space didn't matter and wouldn't make a difference on a tuned port
box. WRONG! It certainly did. I would imagine that a bandpass would be even
more critical. Although I have to confess that my son was the one that ran
the
program and called me with the final numbers.
If I am not mistaken the system is fairly expensive compared to the others
advertised. I believe the barebones program was like $300. Then you could add
to it including a proprietary board that managed the mic. I'll check for you
if you don't have The Cookbook sitting around somewhere.
Oh, BTW, it does work with OS2. Well behaved also.
Cheers, John
