Hi James:
      I have heard good things about the Maccari R1 "light" spring as
for accuracy. Probably the main reason I haven't tried it in my .177
R1-Watts is that I have a FWB124d now putting 7.9 gr Cros Prem Lites out
about 860 fps and for California ground squirrel hunting, the distances
for these skittish critters is about 50 yds, barring superior stalking
skills and so I am hoping to achieve great accuracy with 10.5 gr Cros
Prem Heavies and 810-825 fps. The extra long Lothar Walther barrel
that Mr Maccari installed (about 20") should provide the accuracy. I
haven't tested it yet at more than 25 feet so can't report on results
yet, other than it will give match rifle accuracy at that short range
when I hold it right.

My R-1is about 30-35 fps faster with the pellets you guys talked about.
I
have the short high power spring and COP seal. When I really want to
hit
something though., I use the low power kit. This shoots lights at
@900fps.
The high power kit, for me, puts out great numbers, but I cannot hit
anything with it!
