I've scanned high and low through my IBM C/C++ Tools 2.0
manuals and help and can't find any sign of an assembler
bundled. It is quite amazing that they can ship an IDE,
C, C++, debugger, profiler, but can't manage an assembler!
Am I missing something? I can't even find a reference to
an assembler that they sell separately! Do they actually
sell an assembler???
I did see a reference to MASM somewhere, but that doesn't
come with MSC 6.0 either! Does anyone know what the last
version of MASM that supported OS/2 is (assuming they did
drop support)?
Also, can someone tell me what the purpose of DOSCALLS.LIB
in the OS2 directory (that comes with OS/2, not CSET) is?
Also, in the toolkit, TOOLKT20, there is:
OS2286.LIB 449536 bytes
OS2386.LIB 592896 bytes
With BCOS2 1.5 there is:
OS2.LIB 193606 bytes
With MSC 6.0 there is:
OS2.LIB 131671 bytes
What I would have expected was to see the toolkit OS2286.LIB
to be the same as MSC 6.0 OS2.LIB, and the OS2386.LIB to be
the same as BCOS2 OS2.LIB, and probably the same as
DOSCALLS.LIB in OS/2.
BFN. Paul.
