Ollie (twenty years ago) was like that, terrified of
children, not because of abuse or anything, but just like
yours.  The Swarm is intensely interested in the strange
smells children carry with them (adult smells too), so
they don't flee at the approach of a stranger, large or
small.  They swiftly close-in for the sniff.  ;>
