No, I'm not sure. In my video heyday as a tech., we didn't have digital
duplicating equipment. We had 1" and 3/4" dubbing machines. Although the
visual quality of the dupe was pretty good, the tell-tale generation gap
was still evident in the blanking.

Many videos are shot out of focus. Pin-points of light then look like
globes, or "UFOs." ...And a camera can be moved horizontally in a quick
motion that gives the appearence of sudden movement on the part of the
subject, which may not have moved at all!  Besides, you know I'm going
to take the "devil's advocate" view whenever I get the chance. ;-)
