In a message to Anthony about Comment From Dieter, Alan said: AW> I was a supervisor before I left the Navy and the underlings all hated AW> my guts. I hated the Navy and took it out on those that couldn't fight AW> back unfortunately. Strangely enough one of them runs a BBS nowadays, AW> but he has completely ignored my attempts at civility. I happened across a navy guy earlier in the year when I bought some simms off him - Mark Farnan I think. Lived with a bunch of other navy guys too, in Artarmon. Strange people... ;) AW> I used to hate the fact that I could pedal in to Watsons Bay from AW> 25k's away, have a shower, eat a bowl of soggies, get dressed in work AW> gear, read the SMH, and still be ready to work before 8:30. The slacko AW> underlings lived on board and couldn't make it to work on time even AW> though they lived on board 80 metres away. Dunno if you subscribe to the idea, but I'm not a "morning person" - in fact, I hate getting up earlier than I absolutely have to. I also go to bed no earlier than 11:00pm, somewhat later usually. Other people seem to _like_ getting up at 6am or earlier. One guy I know gets up at 4am ever morning to feed and look after his horses and stuff, and doesn't seem to mind. God, I think I;d sooner shoot myself! AW> It sounds as if your workplace ticks along fairly well the way it's AW> organised so my "sackem if they're 7 minutes late" obviously wouldn't AW> work in every case. I've only worked for 3 companies in 12 years, so my AW> opinions are limited by the viewpoints developed from that. Geeze Alan, I left two very opinionated and one-sided messages for you and you've taken both of them on the cheek! What do I have to do to get a bite out of you? Praise the QPF?? ;) AW> That last comment is essentially the gist of it. If you decided to work AW> to rule, the company would be the big loser time wise. It's often tempted me! But I like and usually enjoy what I do too much to treat it like a strictly 9to5 job. 'tnt, Amfony. --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: Insanity Prevails (3:711/934.5) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
