| subject: | AMD 64 X86 compatible?? |
I just talked to an actual person at AMD. He said he was in CA tho he sounded like he was in India. I said I had some old software that worked fine up thru AMD 2200 but won't run on AMD 64 which is supposedly X86 compatible. He said AMD 64 will run Windows, he doesn't know about anything else. His solutions: Get a patch from the software vendor. Sure. Under clock the CPU from the standard 200M to 100. On the two boards I have 200 is the minimum setting. Meanwhile I have two things that won't run that are important to me: PM 3&6. Six was the last to create HPFS, true? OS/2. The ECS 755-A2 has no KB or mouse input, but sound works. That one I am going to keep because there are too many unknowns regarding returning it. MSI K8N has mouse that opens anything it crosses but doesn't do anything else. That one I can take back in the next three days. Ideas? Ray ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> $9.95 domain names from Yahoo!.
