PE> 1) inflation is low so people don't have much to gain by
PE> negative gearing, so the country is stopping being a
PE> country of borrowers.

AM> I don't know much about negative gearing to comment.

Basically you borrow money from the bank, and use it to invest in shares
and property. Bond et al never actually spent their own money (they didn't
actually have any).

PE> 3) no more hype and dickheads buying shares

AM> Can you be more specific?

I get sick of hearing of people getting rich by buying houses/shares as
though it's so easy, you're a fool not to get into debt, and everyone
rushing around talking about shares as if they actually know anything about
it.

PE> 4) banks are stopping trying to be "leaders in information
PE> technology" - always such a joke that it is the banks job
PE> to be pioneers in that field.

AM> Tick, albeit a bit unimportant?

No, it's very important. Dickheads like Westpac wasted so much money on
computers, employing people to do nothing, just so they can get a warm
fuzzy feeling that they are right on the ball with computers. Last I heard
people expected Westpac to be a good bank, not IBM II.

PE> 5) wages of computer people are going down (not far enough
PE> for my liking).

AM> Why would you of all people want that?

High wages attract people who are only interested in a buck. I don't like
the quality of these people. Especially I don't like the attitude of the
bulk of people who are only interested in the current job so they can learn
something new for their next job, neglecting to actually do anything
constructive on their current job. Anyway, with so many computer people
unemployed, they should be able to drag wages down to about the same level
as a bank teller. I know I would still be in the game if that were the
case, but many wouldn't be.

PE> 6) the more we get of 5), the more we will have the arena
PE> being enthusiasts only.

AM> I can see benefits and drawbacks to that idea. Care to
AM> elaborate on what you find appealing about it?

Quality of people around me. People who don't think I'm crazy for spending
as many hours on the computer at home as I do at work!

PE> Anyway, it's a job that requires a brain the size of a small
PE> monkey to do, and the dickhead programmers should be
PE> redeployed as programmer/operators to replace any operators
PE> who only meet the minimum qualifications of an operator.

 AM> I thought you said you weren't a communist? ;) Paul, this
AM> is communism if ever I've heard it! Second only to
AM> pigeon-holing kids at an early age to become athletes in a
AM> specific sport and going to the olympics...

What on earth are you talking about, Anthony. I'm trying to screw as much
productivity out of people as possible, and damn anyone who gets in the
way.

Paul
