In a message dated 10-10-04, Janis Kracht said to Holger Granholm: Hi Janis, JK>I do remember hearing how expensive it was, but I'm pretty sure two JK>individuals here in the states did purchase it. Apparently they have not been able to convert their investment to something profitable. > For running FidoNet I prefer PCB v15.22. There is a bug in both > v15.23 (an upgrade for v15.22) and 15.3. JK>Hmmm.. ok, I thought there were bug fixes for those? (even handler JK>bug, etc.) AFAIK the bugfixes were in v15.4 beta of which I have two versions. The most aggravating bug was that v15.23 and v15.3 did send replies from areafix as attachments which didn't conform with Fido procedures and as such didn't show up on all systems. V15.4 reverted back to sending them as .MSG's Also, all versions of PCBoard require changes with a hex editor in PCBOARD?.EXE (to run events in the new millenium) and in PCBSETUP.EXE (to show correct weekdays in the event listing). There's also a patch to be made to v15.4 beta that removes the date that the beta expires.
