There was a piece online an hour or so ago about the SF demo, appealling to
the fringes to put their own issues "on the back burner".

Apart from the nutcases on the decorated bicycles - whom you can see in
Hyde Park and various shopping centres all year round, our march was
remarkably focussed.  "Socialist Worker" had a stall set up, but
looked bored witless - someone came onto the bus and tried to sell the
thing - I think they sold two copies.

One regular character I do miss - back in the student protest days there
was always someone who got pretty near the front of the procession carrying
a placard that said: "Hello Mum".
