The uarts in my machine are 16550's! Actually, it's an STB 4com card that provided 4 16550's on a single chip. Now it looks as though it will. IT> As it happens the new version is ready, I am just bundling up IT> some extra scripts to go with it this weekend and it will IT> appear on hobbes etc. sometime on Monday as RXASYN20.ZIP. That's terrific, but I don't have an internet access. Is there a bbs (yours' for example) that I can freq/download it from? IT> Please tell me what you think, and if you have any problems IT> getting it to work I'd be more than happy to help you resolve IT> them. That's a "Whay cool" offer. Probably... I won't need it though... IT> Just for the record here is the detail which gets around the IT> 8250 UART problem. IT> The following MODE setting is recommended to be placed in your IT> STARTUP.CMD file for best results: IT> MODE COM4... Also having this enabled may cause unpredictable IT> responses when using the SIO drivers. (Ray may have fixed IT> this now, however I do not use SIO these days except for IT> testing so your mileage may vary.) I do use sio and I'll report how it all works. IT> You should also use the following Hayes or equivalent modem IT> settings: IT> E0, Q0, V1, X4 or X6, &C1, &D2 These are pretty much standard fair... IT> If you do NOT have a 16550 UART then you will need to make sure IT> that the DCB information supplied to the RxAsyncSetDcbInfo IT> routine is appropriate. Usually this means using '00000010' for IT> Flags3 and setting BUFFER=OFF in the MODE command above. This doesn't effect me, but I'll log it into my tips.txt collection. Thanks!
