Not quite. http://rhein-zeitung.de/on/99/06/29/topnews/atomspion.html He got DM100,000 from Iraq for the plans - he was ordered to hand over DM60,000 of this. It's technically not a 'fine' as such - more like income tax. He was sentenced to five years in jail. He'd already spent 15 months in jail in Brasil and because this was in a foreign country and therefore more stressful, it counts threefold. Adding the three months he spent in jail in Germany took it to four years, and first-time prisoners in Germany usually only serve two-thirds of the sentence. What is much more interesting to me is exactly what M.A.N was doing with such plans in the first place. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 +49 173 6242039 --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/1.45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
