subject: thinking about a new MB

CJ> I have a Compaq that was given to me, HD dead but everything
CJ> else seems OK. Great, I think, all I have to do is swap in a new
CJ> HD. Pop the box, and there's about half an inch or so of space between
CJ> the HD and the CD-ROM, and I've been unable to find a screwdriver
CJ> with an offset that small. Anyone here have suggestions as to where
 CJ> to get one?

WC> Sure you're looking at the right screws?

I thought so. I'll probably have to pop the box top again
to be sure.

WC> Packard Bell had me stumped on how to install or remove the CD-ROM,
WC> A drive or hard drive until I realized you had to remove the entire
WC> subchassis all three were mounted in .
WC> Turned out to be three screws and all went well after that discovery.

There's be at least the same problem in removing the CD-ROM
on this thing, which is to the R of the HD.
