Cant say I've ever had to endure red rattler actually.  Bloody awful
looking things though.  I remember being on another train one day,
standing up near the doors because it was chockas, and reading the
foot-plate in front of the door of the red rattler beside the train I
was on, and feeling a little concerned for the people on it when I saw
that it had been stamped in the 1920's...
