Hi Al,

I was using parallel cables back in the days when it was introduced as a 
standard part of the OS with DR-DOS 5 long before M$ hitched onto it - 
but *that's* not the same as being able to run at up to 50MBytes/second 
[on F800 Firewire - 100MB/second] with effectively a no-brainer setup 
required!

I know what transfer rates I get/got from my Sony Camcorder 
[iLink=Firewire=IEEE-1394a in that case] to my Sony VAIO Laptop, and 
that was from 6 years ago!
