I don't know what JHR will reply to this, but in the computer retail sector
particularly, it is usual to quote "cash price only" prices. Walk
into Rod Irvings, TECS, etc and you'll see the signs. The last time I
checked, the surcharge to the retailer was 3% for Bankcard, Mastercard,
Visa, Diners, and 5% for Amex. This is a significant slice of the profit
margin in the artifically competitive (due to criminal scum illegally
selling goods ex-tax) computer h/w market.

The stores which don't charge extra, invariably have higher prices. Compare
some day and you'll see...
